The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) seeks an experienced accounting professional to lead the Center for Accounting’s General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable functions. The role requires daily oversight of SAP and CORE interfaces, vendor master data, 1099 reporting, and year‑end close activities while supervising a four‑member staff.

• Supervise and manage a team of four full‑time accounting staff, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with state procedures.
• Oversee daily interfaces between SAP and CORE, vendor and payment analytics, electronic invoicing, and reconciliation of accounts receivable, general ledger, and accounts payable.
• Design, document, and implement vendor master data setup, 1099 processes, and electronic archiving standards.
• Coordinate month‑end and year‑end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and submission of financial statements to the Office of the State Controller.
• Maintain internal controls, audit support, and quarterly reporting in accordance with GAAP, GASB, and state fiscal rules.
• Provide training, coaching, and performance management to, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

• Eight (8) years total of accounting experience, including at least four years of professional auditing or accounting background.
• Minimum four years of professional accounting experience, one year of which must involve General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable functions.
• Professional CPA license issued by the Colorado Board of Accountancy is preferred (credits per license count toward experience).
• Demonstrated experience with SAP FICO and CORE systems, vendor master data, 1099 reporting, and year‑end close processes.
• Strong leadership, communication, and computer skills (Microsoft Office, Power BI, and SAP).

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• Experience with public sector accounting, state financial reporting, and federal guidance.
• Leadership and supervisory experience in a public‑sector environment.
