Title: Group Fitness Instructor
Department Summary
Rec Sports provides programs and services to the university community. The goal is to provide a positive environment to assist individuals in exploring and learning about recreation and fitness activities, in order to enhance a better quality of life and become active members of the community. Approximately 250 students are employed each year through various programs including intramural sports, informal recreation, group exercise, sport clubs, fitness, faculty/staff fitness, special events, outdoor pursuits, and aquatics.
The Rec Center aims to be a positive and exciting place to work.
Position Overview
The Group Fitness Instructor plays a pivotal role in fostering a vibrant and inclusive fitness community among students, faculty, and staff. Responsibilities include designing and leading engaging fitness classes in various formats, motivating participants to achieve their fitness goals, and ensuring a safe and supportive exercise environment. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for fitness, strong interpersonal skills, and an accredited certification in group fitness instruction (ACE, NASM, AFAA, 200hrYoga, Zumba, etc.).
