Float Registered Nurse

We are actively seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a float between 3 floors. This role is essential in delivering high-quality infusion services to oncology patients in a fast-paced outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will have oncology infusion and clinic experience, and a strong commitment to patient-centered care.

Patient Care & Workflow:

• Support teams of at least 8 providers and 2 Nurse Practitioners, alongside the radiation department and Gen Onc.

• Manage 36-chair infusion suites, serving 70-90 patients daily. Collaborate with teams of 6+ nurses, each typically seeing 9-11 patients per day.

• Administer injections, infusions (both chemo and non-chemo), hematology treatments, iron, and other IV therapies.
Therapy Administration:

• Prepare and administer therapies under physician supervision.

• Ensure accurate administration of all medications and blood products, following correct dosage, route, timing, and technique.

• Confirm pre-authorizations and consent forms are completed prior to treatment when applicable.
Patient Assessment &

Education:

• Assess patient and family needs, providing education and instructional materials.

• Monitor labs, consult protocols, calculate doses, and collaborate with physicians on dose modifications and symptom management.

• Demonstrate strong drug education skills, ensuring patients and families are well-informed about chemotherapy protocols, potential side effects, and medication safety.
Technical

Skills:

• Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient care and treatments.

• Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and ensure proper charge capture.

Required Skills & Experience

• Active RN License.

• 2+ of years of RN oncology experience.

• Strong IV and critical thinking skills.

• Strong drug education skills in oncology.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Infusion and clinic RN experience.

• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate

• OCN Certification is a major plus.

• Outpatient experience.

• ER/ICU Experience.
