Medical City Denton

RN PACU Seasonal PRN

$60 per hour plus shift differentials.

Program runs September 21, 2025 - April 4, 2026
.

Program Requirements
  • All seasonal RNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period.
  • Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need.
  • Four (4) weekend shifts are required each 4 week schedule period.
  • During the course of the 32‑week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee).
  • Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call‑off. There are no guaranteed hours by the hospital.
  • Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for benefits, except 401(k) and retirement contribution per the PRN policy.
  • Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for extra shift bonuses (D1/CND or D2/ECD).
  • Registered Nurses who are in the Seasonal program will have one opportunity to pass the clinical competency evaluation.
  • Current FT/PT & PRN Level 3 employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal program for 2025‑26 with the exception of RNs that participated in the Seasonal program in the previous year.
  • Current employees of HWS are not eligible for the seasonal program.
  • Shifts may vary based on the needs of the department.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a PACU Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in the immediate post‑operative care of surgical patients. Your responsibilities will include managing airway support, closely monitoring neurological and cardiac status, and responding promptly to any complications or side effects. You will provide initial wound care to the patients’ surgical site and ensure patient stability during recovery. You will collaborate with the surgical and anesthesia team.

This role includes on‑call availability during select non‑business hours which will be discussed in the interview.

  • Staffing Support from Certified Nurse Assistance, Patient Care Techs, Charge Nurses, and an RN float pool internal to HCA Healthcare that is available as a staffing resource as needed.
  • Rounding with unit leaders, including charge nurses, to ensure your voice is heard on suggestions for patient care.
