We have an exciting opportunity for an intern on our Development Team. As an intern supporting our Heart Walk event, you will play a key role in driving the success of this impactful campaign. Your responsibilities will include a variety of tasks that contribute to the planning, execution, and follow-up of these life‑saving initiatives.
The American Heart Association’s Internship Program provides college students an opportunity for hands‑on experience in various facets for individuals interested in gaining work experience with a non‑profit, voluntary health organization.

Hybrid Position - Intern must be based in Fort Worth, TX or the immediate surrounding area. - Salary: $23.00 per hour
Individuals participating in the internship program are provided with an opportunity to:

- Complete an internship that enriches your academic and professional resume as well as enriching your personal life by making a difference in the lives of others.
- Conduct outreach to donors and conduct follow‑up calls to past and current coaches/captains, top fundraising participants, and survivors to support participation.
- Assist with donor presentation preparation and gathering materials for sponsor follow‑up after meetings, helping to maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Man American Heart Association booths and tables at participating Heart Walk companies.
- Drive new Heart Walk company and community engagement through outreach and drop‑offs.
- Assist with pulling reports, data entry, and organizing event‑related information to track progress and outcomes.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as preparing printed materials, assembling thank‑you cards, and organizing event supplies.
- Support the planning and execution of Hands‑Only CPR demonstrations.
- Support and lead donor presentations for ELT meetings, company rallies, and more.
- Build comprehensive bios and business summaries for top donor prospects.
- Design (in Canva) sponsorship proposals, impact reports, mission one‑pagers, etc., to be provided to the donor community.
- Create social media content.
- Assist with the planning, coordinating, and executing pre‑event logistics, and on‑site event management for multiple community events.
- Candidates who are seniors or graduate students pursuing a degree in business, communications, public relations, nonprofit fundraising, or event management.
- Experience/interest in promotion, sales, or fundraising.
- Demonstrated excellence in written communication skills.
