Position Overview:

MP Materials is seeking a hands‑on Facilities Maintenance Technician to be an integral part of maintaining and operating a new metal, alloy, and magnet‑making facility in Fort Worth, Texas. This is a rare opportunity to have a vital role in the development of a greenfield advanced manufacturing facility and helping to define the future of American manufacturing. The new facility will contain a broad range of chemical, electrical, mechanical, and thermal processes, including high temperature chemistry, handling of molten metals, powder metallurgy, machining, and assembly.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders from staff.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to building infrastructure, equipment, and systems.
  • Collaborate with external contractors and service providers as needed.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and address maintenance needs.
  • Assist with the setup and take‑down of equipment for special events or departmental needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of parts and supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Participate in training programs to enhance skills and stay current with industry advancements.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment and adhere to all safety protocols.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a facilities technician in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management software is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including schematics and blueprints.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and on‑call shifts as required.
