The Planner/Scheduler is responsible for planning, scheduling and working in collaboration with Purchasing / Customer Service to support the manufacturing operation of the plant. The role manages the effective scheduling of production for each shop area as required, maintains an effective schedule, and communicates with Customer Service regarding constraints related to deliveries of finished goods to our customers.

Your Responsibilities Will Be
  • Develop production schedule, monitor daily schedule, and adjust as needs arise based on customer demands.
  • Communicate with customer service, manufacturing and planning daily regarding identified concerns with availability of materials and supplies, both manufacturing and purchased, equipment failures, customer demands and deviations that impact the attainment of the production schedule.
  • Monitor and anticipate when changes may be needed to the production schedule in order to support on‑time delivery of customer demand and track and analyze data.
  • Coordinate viable solutions to problems related to production schedule such as material shortages, rejections, scraps, rework, etc.
  • Develop materials logistics and storage plans for new spaces for operational readiness.
  • Work closely with Purchasing, Customer Service and Production to update and maintain quality and on‑hand inventory.
  • Update and communicate plans daily to meet changing project needs.
  • Provide leadership in resolving supply chain disruptions.
  • Oversee the movement and accuracy of inventory to improve metrics including delivery, quality, shortage, back order and cycle time.
  • Establish minimum and maximum levels, reorder levels and order quantities.
  • Maintain a lean picking system, with flexibility to prioritize and expedite orders as needed.
  • Manage special projects related to inventory control.
  • Initiate corrective action for continuous improvement for efficiency and customer service.
  • Develop and maintain production forecasts by analyzing demand, materials, labor and capacity; align forecast with sales, purchasing and manufacturing. Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment as a planner or coordinator.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in analyzing data, problem identification and resolution and ability to generate clear/concise reports indicating key issues.
  • Microsoft Office Applications Experience (i.e. Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Strong communication and organization skills both verbal and written.
  • Working ERP/MRP knowledge; MS AX and/or D365 a plus.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally as a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a machine shop or machining and assembly environment a plus.
