The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing equipment and facilities within a food manufacturing environment. This position involves a combination of technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and hygienic working environment.
** Duties and Responsibilities****:**
* ** Equipment Maintenance:**  + Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks on production machinery, including conveyors, mixers, packaging equipment, and refrigeration systems.  + Conduct inspections, lubrication, and adjustments to ensure equipment operates efficiently and meets production requirements.  + Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs to minimize downtime.  + Respond promptly and provide emergency unscheduled troubleshooting and repairs of production equipment during the manufacturing process to prevent disruptions to production.
* ** Facility Maintenance:**  + Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the production area, ensuring compliance with sanitation standards and food safety regulations.  + Monitor and repair facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, to support a safe and comfortable working environment.
* ** Safety and Compliance:**  + Adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and safe work practices.  + Participate in safety training programs and contribute to the development of safety initiatives to promote a culture of safety.  + Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (GMP, HACCP, OSHA) and company policies related to food safety, sanitation, and environmental regulations.
* ** Documentation and Reporting:**  + Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment inspections, and inventory management.  + Document equipment repairs, parts replacements, and maintenance procedures to track equipment history and performance.
* ** Collaboration and Communication:**  + Coordinate with production supervisors and operators to prioritize maintenance tasks and minimize disruptions to production schedules.  + Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and safety personnel, to address maintenance issues and implement solutions.  + Provide technical assistance and training to production staff on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
* Flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Job Requirements:

Experience:

*** High school diploma or GED, required.
* Technical school education, preferred.
* 5 years’ related experience in industrial manufacturing environment, preferably in an automated food processing plant.
* 5 years’ experience troubleshooting and maintaining electrical and mechanical systems.
** Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
