TITLE

Activity Coordinator, Project ACCESS

JOB SUMMARY

Performs coordinative and supervisory work in the support of Department of Education sponsored Project ACCESS (Accelerating Completion and Career Education in the School of the Sciences). Works closely with project director and senior grant manager. Areas of concern include program development, and support, financial management and administration, consultation operations, student support, and planning. Work is performed under general supervision and performance is based upon completion of assignments and results obtained.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to:

Director, School of the Sciences and Project Director, Project ACCESS

Supervises:
May supervise grant staff, volunteers, and Student Assistants

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Monitors activities of grants to assure that policies and guidelines are observed.
  • Oversees Grant Activity in coordination with the Project Director.
  • Follows all Title V regulations, as well as the activity plan provided in this grant application.
  • Monitors the activity's budget, submit purchase orders, and track spending for the activity.
  • Provides support to faculty and staff members.
  • Oversees payment of internship and research stipends to students.
  • Maintains documentation for the activity.
  • Develop surveys and other evaluation tools; analyzes collected information.
  • Reports weekly to the Project Director.
  • Assists with marketing the project to constituents both at TWU and externally.
  • Adheres to all timelines set forth in the grant proposal.
  • Assists with annual reports.
  • Collects project data for special reports.
  • Maintains good public relations.
  • Prepares annual budget.
  • Provides administrative support.
  • Develops and maintains an effective record keeping procedure.
  • Ensures that support services are provided to the program and community.
  • Anticipates needs of the grant and develops recommendations for filling these needs.
  • Ensures proper reporting and administration of requirements.
  • Observes work and safety rules.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Performs other duties as requested.
  • Knowledge of modern grant administration practices, the methods, resources, and standards thereof.
  • Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgement based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities.
  • Skills in oral and written communication.
  • Ability to maintain good working relationships with staff, volunteers, clients, and others.
  • Ability to integrate resources, policies, and information for the determination of procedures, solutions, and other outcomes.
  • Ability to plan and allocate the workload of employees, providing direct training and supervision as needed.
  • Ability to apply budgeting and fiscal planning techniques within financial constraints.
  • Ability to use a personal computer and other office equipment, including university related software and email.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in area generally related to grant content or assigned responsibilities. MS in STEM field preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Three years experience in generally related area.

REQUIREMENT

Regular and reliable attendance at the University during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position.
