Senior Women’s Health Care Specialist - Plano, TX
Bayer is expanding its mission to advance Health for All, Hunger for None. The Women’s Health Specialist (WHS) will manage the Intrauterine Devices (IUDs) portfolio and drive launch objectives for a new therapy in the retail space. Key responsibilities include driving demand, providing clinical education/training, and achieving territory sales objectives by developing, coordinating, and executing a strategic business plan for key customers in contracted accounts and community settings.
The WHS reports to the WHC Area General Manager (AGM) and collaborates with Marketing, Medical, Contracting, Market Access, Patient Services, and other internal teams to achieve US Pharma outcomes.
The primary responsibilities of this role, Women’s Health Specialist, are to:
- Drive clinical demand, education and sales, building understanding of disease state, unmet needs and treatment options to educate healthcare professionals and business stakeholders on the benefits of assigned Women’s Health products, balancing efficacy and safety with approved clinical information.
- Demonstrate expertise in disease state, marketplace, competitors, industry, and cross-functional plans; apply analytical rigor to identify opportunities and challenges.
- Prioritize sales and educational activities in accounts with highest ROI for unit and revenue growth.
- Partner with the Area Business Development Lead, monitor contract performance, and ensure quarterly customer business review meetings on top-priority accounts. Support pull-through initiatives to accelerate demand and contract performance in contracted and priority accounts (e.g., IDNs, Academic Medical Centers).
- Penetrate established accounts to gain additional market share for the product portfolio.
- Effectively discover and address account needs with compelling messages and solutions.
- Communicate and collaborate within the area squad to execute at a high level.
- Take ownership of territory budget including Professional Education Budget, Displays/Conferences, and all resources; demonstrate fiscal responsibility.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic and tactical territory sales business plan using data reporting platforms to achieve sales and revenue goals for all promoted products.
- Deliver results by collaborating with your Squad, leader, Medical Team, and internal stakeholders to implement sales strategies.
- Document all field activities in Veeva Irep.
- Demonstrate procedural proficiency and knowledge of clinical data for all products; understand pricing and customer access channels supporting the portfolio.
- Develop referral networks with targeted physicians/centers; maintain awareness of competitive landscape and claims data within your territory.
- Ensure all assigned employee training is completed and up-to-date; operate within the corporate code of conduct and compliance guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree;
- Minimum of five years of sales experience in Medical Device & Pharmaceutical sectors;
- Strong negotiation skills with contract knowledge, strategy, terms, and relationship management;
- Excellent verbal and written communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills;
- Solutions-oriented with the ability to influence without authority;
- Valid Driver’s license with clean driving record;
- Up to 50% travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ob/Gyn specialty experience;
- Strong knowledge of healthcare management, compliance, payer landscape, market and competitive landscape, and channels (commercial and government);
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to create and interpret financial models.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary of between $120,960 - $181,440. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. The salary range is an estimate and may vary by location, experience, and other factors.
