About the OrganizationThe state supported living centers serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are medically fragile or who have behavioral problems. Position SummaryThis position is available for Morning, Evening and Night shifts on multiple homes. This position may be eligible for additional pay for evenings, nights and/or weekends and may be eligible to earn additional pay for work performed on maximum security locations.
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) V, Home Supervisor, performs highly advanced (senior level) work overseeing the daily operations and delivery of quality programs and services provided on the assigned home at the State Supported Living Center (SSLC). Responsibilities include arranging work schedules, supervising DSPs, hiring, training, coaching, time and leave accounting, and promoting professional growth. Models and coaches staff, ensures care and documentation, and collaborates with other disciplines to support individual plans.
Maintains a safe, clean, and respectful home environment and supports continuous quality improvement.
This position is required to drive a state-owned vehicle.
Essential Job Functions (EJFs)- Attend work regularly and adhere to shift schedules, with potential for on-call, overtime, or rotating schedules.
- Oversee daily operations and adjust coverage to meet needs of the home and individuals served.
- Provide leadership to DSPs: hire, train, coach, supervise performance, evaluate staff, and manage time entry and leave approvals.
- Train and supervise DSP V and DSP IV “Charge” staff; ensure monitoring of habilitation, behavior management, crisis intervention, and related plans.
- Ensure care, treatment, training, and support activities are completed and documented; collaborate with QIDP, behavioral health, and other services.
- Provide guidance to staff for working with individuals with challenging behaviors; implement behavioral strategies to ensure safety.
- Maintain health care needs of individuals; supervise infection control, risk management, and emergency readiness (e.g., CPR drills).
- Ensure home is safe, sanitary, and compliant; manage incidents and continuous quality improvement; support DoJ Settlement Agreement compliance.
- Provide guidance on program procedures, policies, and laws; participate in IDTs and ensure staff understanding of plans.
- Attend and prepare reports for routine meetings; support transportation and act as Assistant Unit Director/Unit Director as needed.
