Patient Care Tech, PCT, PT, Days, Float Pool

Work location: Texas Health Denton, 3000 N. I-35, Denton, TX 76201.

Work hours: Part Time, Day Shift (7a–7p), 2 shifts per week, 24 hours total. Weekend and holiday coverage required.

What You Will Do
  • Assist patients according to the care plan.
  • Collect patient data, identify and report significant findings to the nurse.
  • Assist in admission, transfer, and discharge.
  • Provide and revise activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences.
  • Perform technical procedures safely and proficiently.
  • Takes action to reduce or eliminate patient risk.
  • Enter orders into the computer or manual system.
  • Document accurately and appropriately.
  • Collaborate with nurse to adapt care to reflect patient population and cultural/religious needs.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
  • Anticipate patient/family/visitor needs and round as appropriate.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED).
  • Current TX CNA or PCT training with NHA, NAHP, NCCT, accredited community college, or THR approved program.
  • Current EMT‑TX or military medical training equivalent to EMT‑B.
  • 1 year of applicable PCT experience if lacking active certification.
  • Current nursing student with completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program.
  • Previous hospital experience preferred.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) prior to providing independent patient care; maintained quarterly.
  • Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) training within 60 days of hire.
