Radiographer – Orthopedic Surgery Specialists Clinic – Full-Time, Days
Location: 2900 1-35 North, Suite 200, Denton, TX 76201
Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday through Thursday, 8:00am – 5:00pm;
Friday, 8:00am – 2:00pm
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)
- Completion of an ARRT approved Limited Radiologic Technology education program (required);
Associate's Degree Radiologic Technology (preferred) - 1 Year Clinical Radiologic Technology experience (preferred)
- ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (required)
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support (required) or ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (required)
- Knowledge of radiology equipment, anatomy, and physiology.
- Thorough knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations.
- Knowledge of safety hazards common to radiology including medical equipment, body mechanics, and patient movement.
- Skilled in properly positioning patients to provide quality imaging.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the field.
- Strong work ethic and professionalism.
- Operate radiology equipment to produce imaging films as directed by physicians and perform radiographic and cardiopulmonary procedures for routine diagnosis and treatment.
- Perform specialized procedures for diagnosis and treatment design, including venography, myelography, and gastrointestinal exams.
- Print and perform all diagnostic radiograph procedures for physician or radiologist interpretation.
- Take x‑rays of various body portions for diagnosis of disease or injury; position patients and adjust equipment per established procedures.
- Examine radiology film and/or digital exams for density, contrast, definition, magnification, and distortion.
- Maintain radiographic log and documentation of exams, patient names, and retake reasons, and maintain separate reports on all diagnostic x‑rays.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and maintain accurate department records.
- Follow principles of safety, radiation protection, and patient comfort and care.
- Record test results and monitor patient data.
- File and maintain shipping/receiving log of radiographs and other diagnostic tests.
- Maintain current MSDS forms for radiology department.
- Calibrate and maintain x‑ray equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
