Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

With 58 years of industry expertise serving primarily pharmacies and financial institutions across the United States, our product portfolio includes sophisticated pneumatic point-to-point and remote drive-up systems, along with full-service security equipment sales, installation, and support.

Comco Systems is seeking a strategic, hands‑on Controller to lead our accounting function, strengthen financial visibility, and serve as a key business partner to our Executive Team.

This role is ideal for an experienced accounting leader with manufacturing and job‑based accounting expertise, strong GAAP knowledge, and the proven ability to bring structure, accuracy, and accountability to a developing organization.

• Oversee all core accounting operations
• Lead financial reporting, job costing, inventory management, and compliance functions
• Serve as the company’s financial thought partner—providing insight, discipline, and analysis to support operational and strategic decisions

This position reports directly to the President and serves as a core member of the Executive Team.

Financial Leadership & Strategic Partnership

• Serve as a core member of the Executive Team, providing financial analysis, insights, and strategic recommendations
• Partner with department heads company‑wide to align operational processes with financial objectives
• Oversee and advise HR personnel, ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance
• Assure financial plans are consistent with organizational goals and growth initiatives

• Lead daily accounting functions (GL, AR, AP, reconciliations, journal entries, accruals)
• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, variance analyses, cash flow forecasts, and KPI dashboards
• Establish and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies
• Build, mentor, and develop the accounting team
• Supervise third‑party accounting support

• Implement and manage a robust job cost accounting framework
• Ensure accurate job profitability reporting
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition and project cost tracking within Odoo 18
• Monitor cost variances and align project estimates with financial reporting
• Perform monthly variance analysis between projected and actual results

• Oversee inventory valuation under FIFO methodology
• Own standard costing, variance analysis (PPV, labor, overhead, scrap), and product margin analytics
• Align warehouse operations and subcontractor inventory workflows with financial records
• Oversee reconciliation of cycle counts and physical inventories
• Partner with Production on manufacturing cost validation

• Serve as accounting lead for Odoo 18 financial configuration and integration
• Develop dashboards, KPIs, and financial visibility tools
• Strengthen and optimize accounting processes
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and rolling 13‑week cash forecast processes

• Establish tiered approval workflows and spending controls
• Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions
• Ensure regulatory compliance and GAAP standards
• Coordinate audits and provide documentation support

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role
• Manufacturing accounting experience with hands‑on job costing and inventory accounting
• Strong GAAP expertise and financial reporting skills
• Experience with cost accounting, standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation
• ERP proficiency (Odoo experience strongly preferred)
• Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills
• Hands‑on leadership style and strong cross‑functional collaboration skills
