Key Responsibilities
  • We are seeking a Senior Level Drafter to join our Denton office. This role involves preparing and reviewing survey-related drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company and industry standards. This is an in-office position.
  • Prepare, modify, and review ALTA/NSPS surveys, category 1A surveys, topographic surveys, tree surveys, as-built surveys, easements and form board surveys.
  • Read and interpret title commitments and reports with a specific focus on identifying and addressing Schedule 'B' items.
  • Address survey objection letters.
  • Work closely with Registered Professional Land Surveyors, project managers, and field crews to interpret and implement field data.
  • Utilize Carlson Survey (2025) and other drafting software to create precise and high-quality deliverables.
  • Train and mentor junior drafters, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Conduct quality control checks on drafting work to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in land surveying drafting, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or Carlson Survey is required.
  • Strong understanding of surveying principles, legal descriptions, plats, easements, title commitments and survey objection letters.
  • Ability to read and accurately place easements on survey drawings.
  • Ability to interpret and apply boundary and title research.
  • Experience with ALTA/NSPS surveys, category 1A surveys, topographic surveys, tree surveys, as-built surveys, easements, and form board surveys (experience in subdivision platting is a plus).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to quality.
  • Extensive experience in survey drafting, strong technical proficiency, and leadership skills to guide junior drafters.
