Responsible for developing, managing, and implementing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
DUTIES- Manage the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the Division GIS database applications including but not limited to schema, domains, feature classes, and infrastructure information.
- Meet with internal stakeholders to identify needs, review priorities, and assist with issue resolution; coordinate GIS projects and tasks to align with stakeholder needs and meet deadline requirements.
- Coordinate GIS database administration with Technology Services Department.
- Develop and implement complex macro-level commands to meet high priority GIS needs.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control (QC) procedures, standard processes, and workflows to ensure data integrity and management of the GIS data and GIS database.
- Recommend and establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) for GIS workflows, GIS data development and maintenance, and map production services; ensure recommendations and procedures align with applicable polices and guidelines.
- Perform analyses to solve complex spatial problems and use innovative solutions to improve eBiciencies.
- Create and maintain GIS maps showing division infrastructure location; generate maps for internal and external stakeholders documenting existing division infrastructure.
- Research and stay up to date on latest GIS technologies, innovations, and GIS database maintenance best practices.
- Collectandmaintainaccurategeospatialdatarelatedtoinfrastructure.
- Provide GIS technical support and training to internal stakeholders; verify understanding of subject material.
- Create and maintain statistical reports for data tracking and planning purposes; organize and sort GIS data for distribution to internal and external stakeholders.
- Design, coordinate, and prepare representations of the GIS databases, as appropriate.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or related field; and,
- Three (3) years’ experience in a developing, implementing, and maintaining GIS data, or related field,
OR
- Any combination of related education, experience, certifications, and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job.
- Knowledge of Utility Network (UN) and data readiness processes.
- Knowledge ofGPSdata security principles, data collection, devices, and data processing.
- Knowledge of GIS data integration with asset management systems, i.e., City Works, Cartegraph, Tyler Technologies.
- Knowledge of Python, Arcade, HTML, and SQL programming languages.
- Knowledge of ESRI model builder to automate processes.
- Knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise Systems.
- Knowledge of City of Denton policies and procedures.
- Skill in complex problem solving; identifying problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Skill in analyzing, researching, and compiling data and thoughts to solve problems.
- Skill in performing mathematical and statistical calculations with accuracy.
- Skill at the intermediate level, working with applicable Microsoft Office 365 products.
- Skill at the advanced level in ESRI ArcGIS Products, includingbutnotlimitedto ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Portal.
- Skill at the advanced level in ESRI Field Maps, Survey
123, dashboards, and Experience Builder applications. - Skill in providing exceptional service to internal and external customers.
- Skill in creating new concepts and promoting innovation through continuing education and professional networking.
- Ability to read as-builts/plan sets/construction plans to create and manipulate GIS data.
- Ability to interpret and develop cartographic exhibits and figures.
- Ability to work independently to manage multiple work tasks while balancing competing priorities with attention to detail and in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in oral and written forms, for the needs of the audience.
