Center for Fraternity and Sorority Life (CFSL) supports 37 fraternities and sororities through four councils:
Interfraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Council, National Pan‑Hellenic Council, and Collegiate Panhellenic Council. Since 1952, CFSL has played a vital role in campus life.
Provides support to student groups within Fraternity and Sorority Life and acts as an advisor and advocate. The coordinator assists the FSL unit in event planning, leadership development, member development, and risk management. The role collaborates with university departments to provide resources to the community.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years’ experience in student services, student affairs, counseling, or advising.
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience acceptable.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent public speaking and workshop facilitation skills.
- Ability to provide leadership and mentoring to student populations.
- Experience in networking across departments and programs.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and computer skills.
Master’s degree in higher education, education, student support, or related field.
Job Duties- Advise one or more assigned FSL student governing councils, including IFC, MGC, NPHC, or CPC.
- Provide coaching and facilitate meetings with chapter leaders.
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing council‑related events.
- Participate in the Event Safety Committee for FSL events.
- Plan and facilitate workshops and retreats on event planning, leadership, member development, and risk management.
- Ensure accuracy of rosters and contact sheets for chapters.
- Monitor financial transactions for assigned councils in collaboration with the administrative assistant.
- Participate in departmental programs and projects supporting university mission.
- Attend, supervise, and advise students at conferences; serve on committees and task forces as assigned.
- Perform other duties as required.
Moderate sedentary work that involves sitting and standing.
Environmental HazardsNo adverse environmental conditions expected.
Work ScheduleMonday‑Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Occasional time outside normal hours may be required.
