Job Responsibilities
- Perform routine training work designed to ensure employees are effectively trained in core and specialty competencies required for their position.
- Plan, design, organize, conduct, and evaluate educational and training programs, including new employee orientation and refresher training.
- Liaise with all departments and programs at the facility, providing support as needed.
- Develop and maintain training materials, using creative methods to engage trainees, and adapt training techniques to audience needs.
- Serve as a substitute trainer when needed, maintaining training continuity.
- Maintain accurate training records, attendance, and training reports.
- Assist in curriculum development and adopt state‑of‑the‑art training techniques, ensuring safety and infection‑control practices.
- Conduct needs assessments and program assessments to identify training gaps and recommend improvements.
- Maintain necessary certifications and serve as a Master Trainer or subject matter expert as required.
- Participate in facility meetings, provide training perspectives, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to fulfill training and facility goals, including disaster response and COOP activation.
Essential Job Functions (EJFs)
- Attend work regularly and work specified shift schedules, overtime, and extended hours as required.
- Conduct training classes in group or computer lab settings, ensuring trainee competency.
- Use creativity and training techniques to enhance trainee engagement.
- Maintain accurate training records and attendance, submitting reports as required.
- Assist in developing curriculum materials, multimedia presentations, and ensure equipment maintenance.
- Assist in identifying training needs and developing responses to improve delivery.
- Complete post‑orientation assessments and authorize required documentation.
- Maintain certifications (e.g., CPR, Ukeru, Safe Use of Restraints, etc.) and serve as a Master Trainer.
- Participate in facility meetings, provide recommendations, and analyze training statistics.
- Perform additional duties and support disaster response or COOP activation as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Ability to work with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of adult education principles and training procedures.
- Skill in providing effective instruction to large groups and one‑to‑one.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to learn, teach, and demonstrate skills related to CPR, Ukeru, Safe Use of Restraints, and lifting.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing with diverse recipients.
- Ability to support approximately 55 pounds for proper lifting instruction.
- Ability to evaluate, develop, and revise training programs.
- Proficiency with Windows‑based programs (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Proficiency with basic office and audiovisual equipment.
