Associate Academic Advisor at University of North Texas.

Position Overview

This position builds collaborative relationships with students to develop meaningful educational goals consistent with personal interests, values and abilities. The advisor is responsible for advising students on degree/program requirements and course scheduling; maintains and updates student status, records, transcript evaluations, degree plan audits, and graduation applications.

Compensation and Schedule

Salary: $39,600.00. FTE: 1.000000. Retirement Eligibility: TRS Eligible.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm, occasional nights and weekends. Driving University Vehicle:
No.

  • Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications

Job Duties
  • Advise students individually and in group settings regarding degree requirements and University and College Policies. Make referrals to campus offices as necessary.
  • Prepare and update degree audits/degree plans to include evaluating and applying transfer work in accordance with University and College policies.
  • Process graduation packets and degree plans as assigned to meet College and University deadlines.
  • Present Ryan College of Business degree information at new student orientations and major changer groups.
  • Engage in special projects as assigned: e.g., letters, handouts, retention and recruitment initiatives.
  • Contribute to the overall organizational health and performance of the Ryan College of Business Undergraduate Programs Office through teamwork, knowledge sharing, professional development and professional relationship building.
  • Demonstrate commitment and ability to support a diverse group of individuals within the academic community.
Physical Requirements

Communicating with others to exchange information. Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
