Department SummaryThe Department of Economics is actively involved in educational and research activities designed to produce graduates with the economic background and quantitative skills necessary to succeed in today's labor market or in Ph.D. programs. Employers in business, industry, education, and government seek employees who can analyze and interpret data. Our graduates are well prepared to meet these needs, and demand for our students is growing.

The Department of Economics seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This posting is for the Fall 2025, Spring 2026, and Summer 2026 semesters. The specific courses involved may vary from semester to semester and openings to teach these courses develop on a periodic basis, depending on department teaching needs.
- ECON 1100 – Principles of Microeconomics
- ECON 1110 – Principles of Macroeconomics
- Other ECON courses listed in UNT catalogs.
- MA or MS in Economics for undergraduate courses.
- Ph.D. in Economics for graduate courses.
- One year of teaching experience at a university or two years at a community college.
