ResponsibilitiesThe Telephone Operator handles emergency calls and codes. Responds to incoming calls in a timely manner and directs caller to appropriate line, demonstrating smooth, clear, and courteous professional communication practices.
Qualifications- Requires at least 1 year of PBX or customer service experience with extensive phone work.
- Previous hospital experience strongly preferred.
- Reading and numerical competency.
- Requires the ability to fluently speak and understand English.
- Must have the ability to perform calmly, competently and quickly in emergency situations.
- Ability to clearly articulate applicable information in a calm, competent and expeditious manner.
- Able to consistently handle stressful situations with professionalism and utilizes sound judgement.
- Must have excellent keyboard/computer skills, hospital experience preferred.
