A leading neurological and stroke care program in the Denison area is seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) to join its Neuro Hospitalist team
. This full-time inpatient position offers structured scheduling, clinical autonomy, and exposure to complex neurological cases in a collaborative hospital environment.
Responsibilities
Provide inpatient management for patients with stroke, seizures, neurotrauma, and other acute neurological conditions.
Perform comprehensive neurological assessments, formulate and adjust care plans, and document progress.
Collaborate with neurologists, neurosurgeons, and hospital medicine teams to ensure coordinated care.
Participate in acute stroke responses and rapid assessment protocols.
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery expectations.
Contribute to performance improvement and quality initiatives.
QualificationsActive Texas RN license and Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) certification
Current BLS and ACLS
Minimum 2 years of hospital-based or inpatient NP experience
Strong critical-thinking and communication skills
Preferred
Neurology, Neuro-ICU, or Hospitalist background
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) or ENLS certification
Familiarity with EEG monitoring, lumbar puncture, or neuro imaging
Additional Information$120,000 – $155,000 annual salary (commensurate with experience)
