Overview

This is a full-time Monday‑Friday position with no weekends, call, or major holidays.

Texas Oncology is looking for a Nurse Supervisor (RN) to join our team at the Denison location.

What does the Nurse Supervisor do?

Coordinates all activities related to nursing functions and patient care within budgetary constraints. Adheres to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Supervises nursing staff that provides professional nursing care to patients. Recognizes physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of care. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities
  • Clinical Oversight:
    Oversees the clinical operations for all nursing clinical support activities.
  • Ensure adequate staffing/FTEs for assigned clinics.
  • Maintain effective nursing staff coverage and operating costs for the practice and/or satellites within budgetary parameters.
  • Ensure clinical operations and practice consistent with organizational objectives.
  • Monitors and evaluates patient satisfaction and quality assurance measures.
  • Staff Development:
    Coordinates, implements, and assists with staff training, in‑services, and internal developmental programs for nursing staff.
  • Assists with annual performance evaluations for nursing department staff.
  • Serves as mentor/preceptor and provides day‑to‑day guidance to less experienced nurses.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN or MSN preferred.
  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Minimum 5 years actively practicing as a registered nurse, including at least 3 years in oncology.
  • 1 year of leadership experience preferred.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Current or pending oncology certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

Large percent of time performing computer‑based work is required. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Requires full range of body motion, handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time, occasional lifts and carries up to 40 lbs, and corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
