Position: MEDICAL ASSISTANT -DURANT FAMILY PRACTICE

About Texoma Care – Our experienced team of physicians is dedicated to caring for all members of the family at every stage of life. Texoma Care comprises primary care physicians and a variety of specialists in nine local communities, and is proudly affiliated with Texoma Medical Center (TMC), the region’s leader in hospital services. TMC is a 414‑bed acute care facility located in Denison, Texas, supporting the community with over 3,500 employees, 400 multi‑specialty physicians, and 100 volunteers.

The Medical Assistant – Durant Family Practice – performs a wide variety of patient‑care duties. These include assisting in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician, interviewing patients, measuring vital signs (pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), performing venipuncture, and carrying out procedures as directed by the physician within state scope of practice. Documentation is entered in the Electronic Medical Record according to IPM guidelines, treatment rooms are prepared, and the front desk is covered as needed.

Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, develops and manages multi‑specialty physician networks and urgent‑care clinics aligned with UHS acute‑care facilities. Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Medical Assistant certificate required or must obtain certification within six (6) months of employment
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required
  • Medical Assistant Certificate of Completion and/or one year experience as a Medical Assistant
  • Familiarity with medical terminology required
  • Experience with patient check‑in and check‑out process (according to clinic protocol)
  • General medical office procedures
  • Understanding of end‑of‑day cash balancing and charge reconciliation process (according to clinic protocol)
  • Proficiency in basic computer programs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Must perform courteously and professionally in all interactions
  • Experience with office equipment such as fax machine, copier, and telephone system
  • Experience with EKG machine, other patient‑care testing
