math hub peer tutor

provides tutoring under the supervision of the math hub coordinator.

work schedule: tutors work a minimum of 3 hours per week. Tutoring sessions are scheduled according to tutor and student availability. Generally, tutoring occurs during the hours that math hub is open. Tutors may not work more than 15 hours per week.

this position pays $15.00/hour.

• 90% tutors students in assigned subjects.
• 5% participates in tutor training sessions as part of the tutor certification program.
• 5% performs other duties as assigned.

• must have an overall gpa of 3.0 on an accredited college transcript and earning a 4.0 in any course to be tutored.
• courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job.
• work involves listening to obtain information, explaining information and concepts, building relationships, and encouraging students to persist.
• tutors must communicate effectively in english.
