You will join a multidisciplinary team of professionals in a challenging and friendly environment. General

function description
  • You will teach, train, coach and assess both Dutch and international students in leadership and communication skills
  • Areas of focus within communication include giving and receiving feedback, performance appraisals, demonstrating assertiveness in dealing with difficult guests, and practicing proactive communication within teamwork
  • Leadership skills are focused on the development of the students’ emotional intelligence and ability to deal with adversity within the context of leadership, including the training of motivating employees, progress and appraisal interviews and meeting skills.
  • You will be developing and improving courses that are closely linked to real‑world (hospitality) management practices.
  • Two to four times per year, you will guide students through a week‑long outdoor leadership development programme.
  • You are a professional and motivating trainer who is able to encourage young adults to achieve excellence.
  • You are flexible and an active team player willing to cooperate and contribute towards the university’s success.
  • You feel at home in an English speaking dynamic and international academic environment
Candidate profile

You have/are:

  • a Master’s degree
  • a minimum of 4 years work experience in training communication, leadership and management skills, at least a part of which is within an international environment.
  • several years of teaching experience or proven affinity with teaching i.e. considerable experience in training and coaching based on agile methods and/or relationship management
  • analytical and conceptual skills
  • an excellent command of the English language (C1 level)
  • very good social and communication skills
  • an ability to work independently with a proactive attitude towards problem solving
  • insight into and knowledge of current developments in management is a plus as is management experience as well as knowledge of the hospitality industry
  • an enthusiastic approach to education with an emphasis on coaching students to deal with real‑world professional assignments
Remuneration

Hotel school The Hague offers a salary based on scale 11 the labour agreement of Universities of Applied Science (CAO HBO) with a range between €4.535,76 and €6.359,47 per month, depending on your professional experience and qualifications.

Additional information

Hotel school The Hague works with a 40-hour workweek. The starting date for this position is as soon as possible depending on the notice period of the applicant.

The work location for this position can be either our Campus in Amsterdam and/or Campus The Hague.
