Security Guard - Starmax

Summary:

Under direction of the Starmax Director, or designee, will ensure the safety and security of our patrons, staff, and property during events at our bar and restaurant, including DJ nights, live bands, and other entertainment activities. This position requires an individual who is observant, calm under pressure, and capable of managing crowd control in a lively and dynamic environment. Demonstrates strong ethical, professional, service-oriented customer service providing an overall excellent guest experience.

• Monitor Security: Oversee the security of the bar, restaurant, and event areas during live performances, DJ nights, and other events.
• Patrol Premises: Conduct regular patrols to prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.
• Guest Interaction: Greet guests professionally and courteously; assist with concerns or questions.
• Enforce Policies: Enforce rules and regulations, including age restrictions and alcohol consumption guidelines.
• Crowd Management: Monitor crowd behavior and address conflicts calmly and effectively to maintain a safe environment.
• Emergency Response: Collaborate with management, staff, and law enforcement as necessary during emergencies or incidents.
• Event Preparation: Assist in securing event spaces before and after events.
• Visible Presence: Maintain a visible security presence to deter potential disruptive behavior.
• Incident Reporting: Report all incidents, accidents, and safety hazards promptly to the supervisor.

• Ability to stay calm and assertive under pressure and in high-energy environments.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage a diverse group of people.
• Professionalism and tact in handling challenging situations.
• Physically capable of standing or patrolling for extended periods.
• Knowledge of security protocols, emergency procedures, and basic first aid is a plus.
• Flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends based on event needs.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Prior security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred but not required.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

• Ability to stand and patrol for extended periods.
• Physically fit to respond to emergencies, including lifting, running, or restraining individuals if necessary.
• Good vision and hearing for effective surveillance.

• Monitor & Patrol: Ensure no unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, or other security breaches.
• Emergency Response: Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, or emergency situations.
• Access Control: Enforce property rules by verifying credentials and screening visitors.
