Activities Director

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activities Director to join our team at Luna Rehabilitation in Deming, NM. As a vital member of our interdisciplinary team, the Activities Director will be responsible for creating, planning, and implementing activity programs that promote resident engagement, socialization, and overall well-being.

• Develop and implement activity programs, including arts and crafts, games, and recreational activities, to meet the needs and interests of our residents
• Coordinate and facilitate special events, such as birthday celebrations, holiday parties, and themed activities
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to identify and address the emotional, social, and physical needs of our residents
• Recruit and train volunteers to participate in activity programs and assist with events
• Maintain accurate records of activities, attendance, and participant feedback
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to continuously improve the quality of care and services provided
• Develop and manage the activity program budget, ensuring efficient use of resources

• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in recreation therapy, gerontology, or a related field preferred
• Minimum 0 years of experience in activities programming, long-term care, or a related field
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends
