Position Summary
Delta Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join our fast-paced Emergency Department team. This role provides professional nursing care to assigned patients in the emergency room setting and plays a critical role in triage, assessment, stabilization, and ongoing patient management.
The ideal candidate thrives in high-acuity environments, demonstrates strong clinical judgment, and excels in time management and patient flow coordination.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
- Triage patients and determine priority of care based on physical, psychological, and social needs.
- Perform focused assessments of chief complaints in a timely manner according to established triage guidelines.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Collect blood samples and other specimens as needed.
- Clean and dress wounds and assist with procedures.
- Monitor patient condition and respond appropriately to changes.
- Maintain and manage emergency room supplies and equipment.
- Facilitate patient flow through the emergency care system.
- Ensure care delivery aligns with the Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members.
Required:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Colorado.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification upon hire.
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification upon hire or within 1 year.
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) within 6 months of hire.
- Strong critical thinking, prioritization, and time management skills.
- Minimum of two (2) years of critical care nursing experience.
- ENPC certification.
- Specialty certification in emergency or critical care nursing (e.g., CEN, CCRN).
