The Correctional Support Trades Supervisor I (CSTS I) position is a General Maintenance Supervisor for the Delta Correctional Center (DCC), a Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC) prison facility. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: ensuring the safety and security of the general public, staff and inmates; training and overseeing a inmate work crew in general building trades, grounds maintenance, and janitorial operations;

and ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant completion of assigned tasks. This position promotes the CDOC Mission and Vision with integrity and commitment.

Safety and Security – the position maintains safety and security of the facility and work sites; through clear and accurate communication, trains and guides inmates in the proper use of controlled items, tools, equipment, and chemicals; enforces security procedures by conducting work‑site searches and monitoring the workplace environment and inmate behavior; initiates verbal reprimands when warranted and, if necessary, physically controls inmates with the proper application of restraints or “use of force” techniques;

Operations – the position ensures the safe, efficient, compliant, and cost‑effective operations of building and grounds construction, janitorial operations, repair, and maintenance.

Building Maintenance – responsible for maintenance of facility buildings to include carpentry, plumbing, electrical,622 painting, remodeling, and repairs; provides instruction and training to inmates in modifying and remodeling prison buildings constructed of various materials and trains inmate workers inMes only tools and equipment for safe, compliant, and efficient completion of projects.

Grounds Maintenance – responsible for maintenance of facility grounds including irrigation, storm drains, snow removal, landscape construction, safety inspection, landscaping, road and path, HVAC and fug tr; and all other applied maintenance of grounds, with a focus on safety and compliance.

The General Maintenance Supervisor coordinates with other projects, Lith solid usage, inventory, and procurement ensuring an efficient use of resources and compliant. The supervisor may provide additional supervision or support as directed.
