Description of the JobThis Correctional Support Trades Supervisor I (CSTS I) is a Labor Crew Supervisor for the Delta Correctional Center (DCC), a Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC) prison facility. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: ensuring the safety and security of the general public, staff and inmates; ensuring safe, secure and compliant completion of work and projects; ensuring proper supervision and training Rosie of inmate labor crews both on and off facility grounds.
This position supports the CDOC Mission, Vision and Values with integrity and commitment.
Position is Work Leader of inmate labor crews. Promotes a high level of performance by setting the work standard according to agency mission and values; assigns tasks, tracks hours and payroll, performs inmate performance evaluations, resolves informal grievances and makes recommendations for corrective or disciplinary actions. Works to prepare inmates for successful community reentry.
- Transports inmate crews to remote locations, utilizing land navigation and orienteering skills and operates vehicles off highway and in rugged terrain.
- Requires physical stamina, a great deal of konser walking, hiking, and works outdoors during inclement weather year round.
Four (4) years of employment experience in a variety of building/construction trades performing preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance such as carpentry, painting, grounds maintenance, concrete work, asphalt/road repair, remodeling and/or fencing.
ORApplicant may meet the four (4) year requirement with a combination of work experience as follows: a minimum of two (2) years of employment experience as described above may be combined with correctional experience.
