PROJECT RESOURCE GEOLOGIST
Northern Star Resources Limited(AS X: NST) is a global-scale Australian gold producer with Tier-1 world-class projects located in highly prospective and low sovereign risk regions of Australia and North America. Northern Star's gold mines are all world-class, low-cost, high-grade gold mines, which together have produced over 20 million ounces to date. This large inventory means a further 10 years of mine life visibility ensuring Northern Star has a long future based on its Tier-1 operations of Kalgoorlie, Jundee and Pogo.
Since acquiring these operations, Northern Star has been able to significantly extend the mine life and grow the resource base of all of our mines by investing heavily in near-mine and in-mine exploration.

In this fast-paced and diverse role, you will report to the Senior Resource Geologist and will be responsible for the implementation and execution of geological tasks for the Underground mine.
We are seeking an experienced Project Geologist to lead geological programs supporting safe, cost-effective, and value-driven mining across production, growth, and discovery activities in open pit and underground environments. This role integrates data acquisition, interpretation, modelling, and operational feedback to optimize ore definition, production performance, and long-term resource growth.
A key focus of this position is resource estimation. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong experience in geological modelling, domaining, and applying statistical and geostatistical methods to deliver defensible Mineral Resource estimates. You will build, validate, and continuously refine 3D geological and mineralization models, ensuring datasets meet QAQC standards and are suitable for estimation and decision-making.
Responsibilities include designing and executing drilling, mapping, and sampling programs; reviewing drill designs; managing blast movement considerations; supervising field teams and contractors; and resolving real-time geological and production issues. You will collaborate closely with mining, engineering, survey, geotechnical, and metallurgy teams to reduce geological risk and improve reconciliation outcomes.
This role requires strong technical judgment, operational awareness, and the ability to clearly communicate interpretations and estimation outcomes. Experience with industry-standard modelling and estimation software is essential.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR- High level wire framing skills.
- Competent in running estimations (preferably Kriging).
- Experienced in the use of Geological Software including Vulcan, Leapfrog & Acquire.
- Minimum of 5 years underground geology experience in the mining industry (preferably in gold).
- Ability to work unsupervised and display good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Geology degree from a recognised tertiary institution.
This role will work a rotational schedule at a remote campsite. Extreme conditions, including but not limited to extreme and changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise, varying degrees of light, in and around artificial light.
