Randstad is seeking a motivated Inside Sales Representative for a premier client in the industrial pipes, valves, and fittings distribution industry. Located in Delta, BC, this permanent role is central to our client's growth strategy. As an integral part of the sales & marketing team, you will act as the primary point of contact for a diverse client base, managing technical inquiries, quotations, and order processing for fire protection, plumbing, and mechanical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process sales orders from customers via phone, email, and fax with a high degree of accuracy.

• Generate comprehensive technical quotations and communicate product specifications to clients.

• Actively use selling techniques to promote complementary or substitution products to increase overall sales volume.

• Liaise with outside sales, accounting, and warehouse departments to resolve customer issues and ensure timely delivery.

• Follow up on direct shipments from suppliers to ensure billing and delivery are completed on schedule.

• Conduct proactive outreach to existing accounts to identify new business opportunities and report on customer activity.

• Participate in physical inventory counts and trade show functions as required to support the branch.

• Manage and maintain customer records within the system, ensuring all data is current and accurate.

• Coordinate return materials (RMA) documentation for stock or supplier returns.

• Provide expert advice on fire protection, plumbing, and mechanical pipe applications to ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service, sales, or a warehouse environment, preferably in a related industrial field.

• Background knowledge in mechanical/industrial pipe and fittings, fire protection, and/or general plumbing.

• College Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or equivalent industry experience.

• Technical Aptitude:
Ability to grasp and communicate complex technical aspects of industrial products to diverse stakeholders.

• Communication & Negotiation:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to negotiate and solve problems effectively.

• Computer

Competency:

Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and web-based applications.

• Detail-Oriented: A high degree of accuracy with the ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multi-tasking demands.

• Self-Management:
Proven business development skills and the ability to prioritize goals with minimal supervision.

• Mathematical Proficiency:
Good mathematical skills for accurate quoting and technical calculations.

• Customer Focus: A dedicated approach to building strong relationships and providing expert technical support.
