Bun Line Sponge Mixer - Wed-Sat / Thurs-Sat - 6:00pm - 6:00am – Golden West Baking Company
Golden West Baking is an English muffin and Bun products manufacturing located on Anacis Island. Established in 1984, the facility supplies products for food service and retail and is part of CH Guenther and Son, a company with over 170 years of history.
Functions- Operate the Bun Line Sponge Mixer.
- Keep mixer and scaling area clean.
- Communicate with Bun Line Mixer and Divider Operator.
- Follow the mixing schedule and formula books unless instructed by shift supervisor.
- Assist in the Bun Line mixing area and other duties as required.
- Complete pre‑operational checklist.
- Mix sponges and/or doughs strictly according to supplied formulas.
- Ensure accurate scaling at all times.
- Keep scaling area organized and ensure that all ingredient bins are stored in covered spots.
- Ensure all ingredients for sponges/doughs are scaled ≥2 hours ahead.
- Maintain all log sheets as required.
- Maintain ingredient bins per the cleaning schedule; refill when necessary.
- Report any formula changes or equipment problems to supervisors.
- Keep bun mixing area organized, clean and sanitary; sweep floor and clean machines when possible.
- Clean all tools at beginning of shift and store properly when not in use.
- Adhere to GMPs for food processing.
- Assist in general cleaning of machinery and plant facility as assigned.
- Empty recycle bins when needed, always at end of shift.
- Fill out ingredient LOT# tracking sheet and request ingredients off the rack when needed.
- Report low ingredient levels to supervisors for reordering.
- Coordinate with scheduling coordinators for required adjustments during changeovers.
- Work as a team and cooperate with fellow members.
- In case of evacuation, stop the mixer and dough pump.
- Report product loss, time loss, QA issues, or mechanical problems immediately.
- Check sponge/dough quality before dumping it to the pump.
- Help Bun Line Divider when not scaling.
- Follow all relevant SOPs.
Job Requirements
- Authorized to operate scissor lift and high‑reach equipment.
- Physically able to lift up to 25 kg regularly.
- Good communication skills.
- Fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
- Hot working environment (uniform, safety gear provided).
- Daily exposure to dust, fumes, extreme temperatures, humidity, noise.
- Regular exposure to mechanical, chemical and electrical hazards.
- Personal protective equipment will be provided.

- Salary Range: $15.00 – $45.00 per hour (final offer may vary).
