Reports to: The Assistant Director in the Corporate Secretary’s Department
Responsibilities:- Provide strategic leadership, guidance, and day-to-day support to two Registrar Administrators with distinct regional mandates.
- Develop, implement, and assess policies, procedures, and action plans related to eligibility and customary adoptions within the NEO.
- Establish performance goals, track key metrics, and promote a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Oversee operations to ensure records and processes meet confidentiality standards and comply with all applicable regimes.
- Ensure the accurate, efficient, and confidential management of enrolment and customary adoption records.
- Work collaboratively with senior leadership and community stakeholders to enhance enrolment services and initiatives.
- Lead and oversee training initiatives to support team performance and consistency.
- Represent the NEO at inter-regional and inter-governmental tables on both general and case-specific matters.
- Support strategic modernization efforts that align with organizational goals and long‑term vision.
- Provide informed recommendations on operations and policies to guide strategic planning and action plans.
- Be available to travel, as requested.
- Perform other related duties within the scope of the position or as requested by supervisor.
- Secondary school diploma (high school) or a combination of relevant education and experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience.
- Previous experience in management or project coordination.
- Proven ability to lead teams and oversee operational activities.
- Experience developing and implementing policies, procedures, or action plans.
- Knowledge of Inuit culture, history, and the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement (JBNQA).
- Ability to speak Inuktitut required; writing in Inuktitut is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to provide vision, direction, and hands‑on operational oversight.
- Strong communication skills and organizational abilities.
- Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with daily management responsibilities.
- Motivated to improve systems, empower teams, and support long‑term autonomist objectives.
- Security clearance is required.
