We are hiring a Chemical or Water Treatment Process Engineer / Project Manager (Full-time, Permanent)

Job Description

  • Complete project management of industrial wastewater and potable water treatment system design and manufacturing projects, with support from senior managers.
  • Perform detailed water treatment process designs with equipment selection support from senior process engineers.
  • Develop detailed P&.
  • Assist process engineers in the selection of mechanical equipment such as pumps and valves.
  • Develop budget estimates for senior review and budget. tracking/management
  • Generate proposals for senior review.
  • Assist with sales by revising proposals as necessary based on customer feedback.
  • Implement and maintain Health & Safety Plans (or completing first review) and supervise safety program on projects.
  • Determine solutions for projects and develop conceptual designs.
  • Develop or complete first review of preliminary and detailed design work.
  • Provide training on software / design principles to junior staff.
  • Work with the management team to allocate McCue resources: personnel and equipment.
  • Prepare material quantity take-offs and direct the procurement of supplies, materials and subcontractors.
  • Support field work and liaise with manufacturing team.
  • Perform field reviews of manufacturing and field work and ensure that work complies with design requirements.
  • Involve/update senior managers on project progress.
  • Report writing or complete first review of reports prepared by project team for submission to senior management.
  • Prepare monthly billing summaries.
  • Communicate with client project managers.

Other:

  • Prioritize work in consultation with Engineering Manager and Directors.
  • Make recommendations to the Engineering Manager and Directors for operational changes/improvements.
  • Communication with Directors, management, engineers, workers, clients and subcontractors will be a critical part of this position.

Qualifications

In addition to a valid driver’s license, applicants should have the following experience and/or qualifications:

  • Chemical or Water Treatment Process Engineering degree and license to practice in Canada.
  • 4-8 years engineering and project management experience.
  • Direct experience designing industrial wastewater treatment systems.
  • Experience in biological treatment processes and Biowin software is an asset.
  • Direct experience designed potable water treatment systems.
  • Health & safety focus.

Preference will be given to those with previous experience constructing water treatment systems. Emergency Level 1 First Aid certification will also be an asset.

Drug testing may be required to access some project sites.
