Job Summary:

Seeking an experienced, highly motivated and compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a genuine love for animals. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the well-being of our patients and provide exceptional client relationship service. Veterinary Technician responsibilities include assisting the Veterinarian with surgeries and procedures, coordinating animal care, and monitoring animal recovery.

You will work closely with the entire clinic staff to ensure the health and well-being of all of our pet patients. If you are passionate about providing exceptional animal care, we’d like to meet you.

Full-time Commitment Preferred: 40 hours/week or 5 days/week. Part-Time is available as well.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of technical duties, including vein puncture and phlebotomy.
  • Assist with surgeries and dental procedures.
  • Administer medications and treatments.
  • Performing laboratory procedures (e.g., blood work, urinalysis).
  • Monitor anesthesia and vital signs.
  • Radiography and ultrasound.
  • Dental prophylaxis and polishing.
  • Provide client education on pet care and home treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Assist with client communication and scheduling.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Triage pets as they arrive at the clinic.
  • Interview pet owners to obtain a patient history.
  • Take vital signs and acquire blood samples.
  • Assist with surgeries and monitor animals after surgery.
  • Administer medications and provide at-home dosage instructions for clients.
  • Keep accurate patient records.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Veterinary Technology program.
  • Current and valid LVT license in the state of Florida.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong technical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Passion for animal welfare.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Spanish speaking is ideal but not required.
