Job SummaryUnder the direction of a licensed Physician or Registered Nurse, the nurse provides direct and/or indirect safe and effective nursing care. Nursing care delivered complies with the objectives and policies of the practice and adheres to licensing and regulatory agency guidelines. The nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—is utilized in patient care. The nurse prepares equipment and assists the physician or registered nurse during treatments and examinations of patients.
Responsibilities- Assists in the assessment process by collecting data, making observations, and documenting in the medical record.
- Demonstrates knowledge and ability to care for age‑specific needs of the population served.
- Observes related to patient progress toward established goals.
- Instructs patients, significant others, and/or reinforces teaching according to the patient plan of care established by the multidisciplinary team.
- Recognizes physical changes and responds within standards of care.
- Documents consistently, accurately, and legibly—including medications administered, exceptions, and patients’ responses.
- Ensures that core measure and meaningful use standards are met in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Anticipates physician’s routine needs and provides such support in a timely fashion.
- Performs professionally in emergency and crisis situations.
- Provides appropriate patient and family education.
Education and Experience
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Florida.
- EMR/EHR experience preferred (Next Gen or Athena).
- Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider required.
