Registered Nurse; RN - Behavioral Health

Position Summary

The Admission nurse is a professional registered nurse who serves as liaison between hospitals, physicians, other facilities, health care professionals, and insurance companies. He/she carries the primary responsibility for evaluating all patient referrals for inpatient, partial hospitalization, or outpatient services; obtaining physician approval for admissions and pre-certification. This position performs inquiries, screenings, admissions, pre-certifications, and referrals displaying expertise in crisis intervention skills and guest relations with a firm belief that the patient receives the most appropriate treatment possible.

EDUCATION:

• Minimum:
  Education recognized by the State of Florida as qualification for Registered Nurse licensure.
• Preferred: BSN

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum:
  Two (2) years clinical experience in nursing or intake.
• Preferred:
  Four (4) years psychiatric experience

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:

• Registered Nursing licensure in the State of Florida
• American Heart Association BLS certification
• Successful completion of CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Non—Violent Crisis Intervention Certification course within 90 days of hire and maintained annually
