Job Summary
Kaufman Lynn Construction is seeking an experienced Human Resources Specialist for a full-time role based in our Delray Beach corporate office. This position offers a flexible hybrid schedule along with competitive compensation and benefits.
The Human Resources Specialist supports Kaufman Lynn’s people strategy by delivering reliable, compliant, and employee-focused human resources services. This role plays a key part in day-to-day HR operations, administering core HR programs and ensuring consistency, accuracy, and adherence to employment policies and regulations.
Serving as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries, the HR Specialist supports employee relations efforts and assists with recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, and HR programs. Balancing transactional excellence with developing professional judgment, this role requires strong attention to detail, a high level of professionalism and confidentiality, and contributes to a positive, well-supported workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities Employee Support & HR Operations- Serve as a primary point of contact for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and employment-related questions.
- Administer HR processes including onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, and personnel documentation.
- Maintain accurate HRIS records and ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
- Support benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and internal policies.
- Assist with HR audits, reporting, and compliance documentation.
- Support consistent and fair application of employment policies and practices.
- Provide guidance to employees and leaders on routine employee relations matters.
- Assist with documenting performance issues, corrective actions, and investigations as directed.
- Escalate sensitive or complex matters appropriately.
- Support recruiting efforts, including career fairs, candidate coordination, and interview logistics.
- Facilitate onboarding activities to ensure a smooth, compliant new-employee experience.
- Assist with performance review cycles, engagement initiatives, and HR projects.
- Support training coordination and internal communications as needed.
- 2-5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience and Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred (Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline), or equivalent experience.
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Professional Certification (preferred): SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or other relevant HRCI/SHRM credentials.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities, schedules, and documentation simultaneously.
- Professional judgment, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) required; experience with HRIS systems preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work in an office environment as needed.
