Work Location: Boynton Beach and Delray Beach, FL
Work Hours: Full Time | M-Fri 8:30am - 5pm (Some Saturdays, and extended hours)
ResponsibilitiesThe Diagnostic Sonographer is responsible for the independent operation of sonography equipment to create necessary images and obtain measurements. Individual must maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and scanning technique. Communicates with the patient and relays any pertinent information to the radiologist and documents on tracking sheet/chart. Communicates with the radiologist and understands and performs any necessary additional exams.

- Education:
Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program. For exceptions and training outside the US, educational requirements will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and require HR approval. - Certificates:
Active certification with ARDMS (SPI only is not eligible for hire) or ARRT(S). ARRT-BS is also acceptable if performing breast sonography only. Current compliance with CME requirements. Exceptions require HR approval. - Computer
Skills:
Knowledge of database software and RIS/PACS software. - Physical demands:
Needs to be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Provide services and support for the following areas:
- Understands, promotes and demonstrates the Solis Way
- Produces high-quality ultrasound images and obtain appropriate measurements for each exam
- Documents all applicable patient and procedure data consistently and correctly
- Explains procedures adequately to patients to maximize patient comfort and cooperation
- Appropriate monitoring during all phases of the procedure with special care taken to ensure patient emotional and physical well-being
- Assist and/or chaperones radiologist when they are performing ultrasound exams
- Assists radiologists during ultrasound biopsy procedures using appropriate sterile technique and universal precautions
- Communicates patient information in a professional and courteous manner to patients and to referring physicians’ offices as required.
- Maintains the ultrasound equipment for cleanliness and ensures proper equipment maintenance and equipment safety
- Maintains a good working relationship with Radiologists and other Center staff members
