As a Medical Assistant, you will be a part of the Clinical Care Team engaging with our patients to develop lifelong well‑being and health. The Medical Assistant role makes a difference in the patient care we offer and assists physicians and other clinicians by providing a unique blend of skills and knowledge to carry out prescribed medical treatment. Medical Assistants are multiskilled health professionals responsible for performing administrative and clinical tasks in our primary care facilities while delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining positive patient engagement.
Functions
- Perform pre‑visit planning based on patient visit type
- Manage the provider’s schedule to ensure efficient workflow
- Obtain and record medical history and vital signs
- Room patients and healthcare providers with medical procedures and treatments
- Perform specimen collection and point of care testing
- Prepare and administer medications under the direction of healthcare providers
- Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) and electronic medical record (EMR) systems, including documentation of HEDIS and Stars quality measures
- Maintain established quality control standards
- Medical Assistant diploma or certificate of completion from a Medical Assisting program
- Current CPR certification
- Bilingual in English and Spanish proficiency
- Active Certified Medical Assistant/CMA or Registered Medical Assistant/RMA certification from one of the following organizations:
- American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- Allied American Health (AAH)
- American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
* Foreign Medical and Nurses - National Association of Health Professionals (NAHP)
- National Association of Healthcare Technicians (NAHT)
- National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- National Health career Association (NHA)
- Medical Career Assessments (MedCA)
- One or more years of Medical Assistant experience in ‘back‑office’ direct patient care
- Experience with HEDIS and ICD/CPT coding
- Hands‑on professional Phlebotomy experience
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records
- Experience in a fast‑paced/high‑volume environment
This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana’s Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.

Pay RangeThe compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$40,000 - $52,300 per year.
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
