About the RoleStarnet Lending is seeking a motivated and licensed Loan Officer to support residential mortgage origination through strong partnerships with real estate professionals and home buyers.
This role is responsible for managing the full loan origination lifecycle — from borrower consultation and pre-qualification through underwriting coordination and closing. The ideal candidate will be comfortable building relationships with real estate agents, converting referred buyers into funded loans, and ensuring a seamless financing experience for clients throughout the home purchasing journey.
This is a production-focused role requiring strong financial acumen, relationship management skills, and the ability to manage an active pipeline in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities- Originate residential mortgage loans through inbound referrals and partner networks
- Consult with prospective borrowers to evaluate financial needs and recommend appropriate loan products
- Collect and analyze borrower documentation including credit history, income, assets, and liabilities
- Guide applicants through the loan process from application through closing
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of loan files prior to submission to underwriting
- Coordinate with processors, underwriters, and closing teams to support timely loan approvals
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and company lending guidelines
- Manage an active pipeline of loan applications and meet monthly production targets
- Build and maintain relationships with real estate agents and referral partners
- Provide consistent communication to borrowers regarding loan status and next steps
- Address borrower questions and proactively resolve potential delays in the approval process
- Active NMLS License
- Experience originating residential mortgage loans
- Knowledge of mortgage products including Conventional, FHA, VA, and Jumbo loans
- Strong understanding of the residential home buying process
- Ability to assess borrower eligibility and financial risk
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Experience using a Loan Origination System (LOS)
- Background working with real estate agent referral networks
- Experience in a commission-based or quota-driven environment
- Familiarity with Automated Underwriting Systems (AUS)
- Existing network of real estate or builder partners
- Monthly funded loan volume
- Application-to-close conversion rate
- Compliance and documentation accuracy
This role operates in a hybrid work environment and requires the ability to independently manage borrower relationships, referral partnerships, and loan pipelines.
