Purpose OfThe Role
The Senior Finance Business Partner plays a critical dual role, providing strong financial governance while actively partnering with site leadership to drive operational and financial performance. This role blends strategic financial leadership with hands-on operational involvement. You are not just reporting the numbers—you are embedded in the business, helping leaders understand what the numbers mean, why they matter, and how to act on them.
This role serves as a trusted advisor to on-site leadership and a key liaison to Corporate Finance.
You bring clarity to complexity. You connect financial results to real operational activity and help leaders make informed decisions that improve productivity, control costs, and enable growth. You are equally comfortable reviewing a variance report, walking the site to understand processes, partnering with leadership to build a forward-looking plan. You roll up your sleeves, ask the right questions, and help turn insight into action.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Finance Business Partner is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Reporting Structure & Governance:
Serve in a dual-reporting capacity, supporting on-site leadership while partnering closely with Corporate Finance; act as the primary financial liaison between site operations and HQ; ensure financial governance, internal controls, and compliance standards are consistently upheld. - Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Partnership:
Partner with the General Manager in the development of the annual operating budget; cascade financial targets and expectations to functional leaders on site; collaborate with Operations leadership to identify productivity improvements and cost-optimization opportunities; support Sales and leadership teams in evaluating and enabling growth opportunities; develop forecasts that reflect both financial trends and operational realities. - Reporting, Analytics & KPI Management:
Own timely, cross-functional reporting that ties financial performance directly to operational outcomes; organize, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including cost drivers, labor efficiency, productivity, and margin performance; establish and maintain weekly and monthly reporting cadences for site leadership; clearly communicate performance against targets and highlight critical-to-process metrics. - Budget Tracking & Variance Analysis:
Lead budget tracking and variance analysis of actual results versus plan; proactively identify trends, risks, and emerging issues that may impact financial performance; recommend corrective actions and partner with leaders to implement solutions. - Decision Support & Business Insight:
Perform periodic cost-benefit, ROI, and scenario analyses to support data-driven decisions; translate financial data into actionable insights for operational and leadership teams; support strategic planning initiatives with sound financial modeling and analysis. - Operational Engagement:
Actively engage with on-site operations to gain a deep understanding of business processes; partner directly with supervisors and managers to understand how day-to-day decisions impact financial results; take a hands-on, “roll-up-your-sleeves” approach to learning the business and driving improvement.
