Quality Control Manager - Dynamic Engineering

As a member of our growing Quality Assurance team, the Quality Control Manager will serve as a technical expert, lead the QA/QC process of land development plan submissions, and work closely with staff to cultivate a culture of technical excellence. The position may be based in any of our offices; flexible arrangements are possible for remote applicants.
Responsibilities- Perform independent technical review in Land Development Plan Design, Stormwater Management Design, Water and Sanitary Sewer Design, and Erosion and Sedimentation Control Design.
- Identify potential design or constructability issues and provide value‑engineering solutions that meet project requirements while reducing costs.
- Ensure the quality of project deliverables.
- Collaborate with project managers and multi‑disciplined design teams.
- Verify that design and code requirements are defined by the project engineer and indicated on the design documents.
- Lead regular training and development sessions to foster technical excellence.
- Provide vision and guidance to the firm in Design and Production of technical deliverables.
- Conduct periodic evaluations of staff to identify training needs and report findings to the Head of QA.
- Assist in training material preparation and lead training as needed; improve design tools, processes, and procedures.
- Manage workload in a deadline‑driven environment.
- Manage a small team in the future.
- Travel to other offices when necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in Civil Site Engineering, including residential and/or commercial/industrial/office site design and permitting.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration (plus).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain/operate a personal or company vehicle.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/Land Development Desktop and Blue Beam for mark‑ups.
- In‑depth knowledge of the planning and zoning process.
- Advanced design capabilities and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficient grading and drainage design skills; utility design experience including pump stations and force mains.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Independent and critical thinking abilities.
- Team‑oriented leadership with focus on staff development and mentoring.
