Program Administrator – Creative Arts SchoolUnder the general supervision of the Director of Communications, the Program Administrator for the Creative Arts School is responsible for the administration and overall management of classroom operations, events planning, volunteer recruitment and training, and art instruction. The position works to ensure a variety of safe, quality educational opportunities are made accessible to the public through the school’s arts education and youth camp programs.
The Program Administrator works with a high degree of independence and builds and maintains strong relationships within the arts community to attract artists, promote educational offerings, special events, and attract new members while enhancing the public image of the museum.
- Establish initiatives to fulfill the mission of the Creative Arts School and increase local, statewide, national, and international awareness and prominence.
- Oversee the school’s operations including development, education and public programming, and staffing.
- Teach various art classes to adults and children.
- Work closely with curators and installers to establish art exhibitions.
- Ensure proper grant management/compliance and reporting.
- Manage and lead art instructors and volunteers; serve as a liaison to artists and art non‑profits in the city.
- Establish goals and work priorities for the school, provide meaningful performance feedback to instructors and volunteers, nurture and support individual development, and recognize and celebrate achievements.
- Collaborate with the Communications Department and other city staff in support of joint initiatives that promote the arts; consult on facility rentals and opportunities to expand the use of all facility spaces.
- Lead and participate in all fundraising and programming development activities; contribute to grant writing and submission with the oversight and approval of the city.
- Participate in the development of revenue‑generating programs and services.
- Serve as spokesperson for the Creative Arts School program.
- Establish strong partnerships in the community continually working to attract and retain members and provide opportunities to engage art enthusiasts. Leverage digital marketing and multiple communication channels to enhance the public image of the Museum and solicit interest and support.
- Coordinate with the city’s communications to develop new public relations and marketing strategies to raise the profile and brand recognition of the school.
- Manage, secure, and maintain access to the school in coordination with supervisor and facilities operations staff.
- Oversee management, acquisition, inventory, storage and maintenance of supplies and materials.
- Recommend changes to the annual budget and identify new initiatives.
- Work a variable schedule, including weekends and evenings. Perform other duties and contribute to projects as needed.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fine Art or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in business or non‑profit arts management.
Must possess strong customer service and business management skills with a record of success in fundraising and audience development. Evidence of a deep commitment to the arts and humanities with a desire to work with and support the community.
