This is a responsible, supervisory position in organizing and monitoring various recreation activities. Work involves planning, developing and instructing recreation programs, supervision of staff and evaluation of program performance. Work is performed under general supervision.

• Experience working with youth, teens, adults in a recreation setting.
• Teaches, supervises, organizes, and instructs a variety of recreation activities and sports.
• Trains, schedules and supervises designated staff and volunteers.
• Assists with a variety of special events, recreation programs and sporting events.
• Provides guidance on work related matters and assists to resolve employee issues, if necessary.
• Coordinates and promotes special events, fundraising, advertising, and vendor coordination.
• Promotes interest in programs through publicity, flyers and social media.
• Ensures that recreation facilities and equipment are used properly.
• Receives and electronically enters registration and payment information.
• Promotes safety and ensures all appropriate laws, rules and regulations are strictly enforced and respected.
• Understands and agrees to working, at times, nights, weekends, and holidays as an essential component of the responsibilities.
• Safely transports participants to various programs by passenger van.
• Develops collaborative relationships with parents.
• Works well and in a nurturing spirit with children or adults with special needs
• Punctuality and regular attendance are essential functions of this position.
• Responds appropriately to situations that may require urgent medical care and attention.
• Fosters positive employee relations and employee morale on a City-wide basis.
• Perform all functions and responsibilities according to the Palm Beach County Code of Ethics and Florida State Statutes 112.313.

• Must have 5 years of cheerleading experience
• Organizes coaches, teams, and individuals in all aspects of cheerleading
• Teach cheerleading routines and implement these routines to various coaches
• Experience supervising adults and youth in a recreational setting
• Good communication skills and ability to work with parents
• Must be able to develop relationships and partnerships with local high schools
• Responsible for organizing cheer events throughout the year
• Must be able to work nights and weekends
• Travel to tournaments is required

• Experience working with school age children ages 5 – 13 years old
• Experience interacting with parents of school age children in various situations
• Plans, coordinates and supervises after school programs, field trips, literacy training, homework assistance, sporting activities for school age children
• Must have some experience working with children with special needs
• Research and purchase equipment, clothing, arts and crafts, and supplies used in an after-school setting from various vendors
• Promotes interest in after school and summer camp program through publicity, flyers and social media
