Primary Function
To assist in providing the Club’s food service program safely and efficiently to meet nutritional needs of Club members while complying with local, state and federal regulations.
Key Roles (Essential Responsibilities)- Perform work in the Club’s food service facility in accordance with regulations, policies and procedures
- Prepare and serve food as assigned
- Perform custodial, dish room and/or storeroom duties as assigned
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and work safety
- Operate and maintain food service equipment in a safe and skillful manner
- Provide cordial and professional service to Club members
- Communicate effectively with the public, staff, Club members, parent and others using tact and good judgment
- Maintain confidentiality regarding workplace matters
- Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities
- Keep supervisor informed of potential problems or unusual events
- Supervise children
- Enforce Boys & Girls Club Rules
- Be a good example and a good listener to the members
- Ensure children obey safety rules
- Ensure all children are accounted for
- Assist in daily care and maintenance of building, grounds and vehicles
- Perform other duties that may be assigned to meet the needs of the Boys & Girls Club
- Internal:
Maintain contact with Club program staff and Director - External:
Maintain contact with members and parents as needed; provide advice and/or discipline
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-2 years of experience working with a food service program
- Ability to create positive and professional relationships with other employees and Club members
- Effective verbal, listening and written communication skills
- Computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to distinguish when time to discipline and time to counsel members (good judgment)
- Certificate of first aid and CPR
- Valid Florida driver’s license – able to meet insurance requirements – CDL Class B License with P&S endorsement is a plus
- Food Management Certificate
