Safety Officer

Key Performance Area:
Ensure compliance with the Factories Act, 1948, and applicable safety rules
Implement and monitor plant safety policies, SOPs, and work permit systems
Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments
Identify unsafe acts and conditions; recommend corrective and preventive actions
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports
Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and refresher training programs
Monitor the use of PPE and ensure adequate availability
Maintain statutory safety records, registers, and reports
Coordinate fire safety systems, mock drills, and emergency response plans
Monitor contractor safety and ensure compliance with plant safety norms
Support the implementation of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards
Liaise with government safety inspectors and external auditors
Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives
