Vendor Operations Intern   Remote (India) | ⏳ Part-time Internship |  Duration: 2–3 Months
About Deshroot  Deshroot is a culture-first Indian marketplace built to bring authentic, region-specific products from artisans and grassroots brands to a national audience. We work closely with vendors across states to onboard, document, and showcase products rooted in Indian heritage—ranging from handicrafts and handlooms to regional lifestyle and home décor.
Operating on a dropship-led model, Deshroot focuses on ethical sourcing, transparent vendor partnerships, and storytelling-driven commerce. As an early-stage venture, we offer real ownership and hands-on exposure to building core operational systems from the ground up.

Role Overview  As a  Vendor Operations Intern , you will work at the core of Deshroot’s marketplace operations. This is an  execution-heavy role  involving direct interaction with vendors, onboarding coordination, follow-ups, and maintaining operational discipline.
This role is  not research-only . It requires accountability, consistency, and clear communication.

Key Responsibilities   Identify and reach out to potential vendors/artisans
Explain Deshroot’s onboarding, pricing, and dropshipping model to vendors
Coordinate vendor onboarding details (pricing, product info, documentation)
Maintain and update vendor trackers (follow-ups, status, onboarding stage)
Work closely with the Vendor Ops Lead to ensure timelines are met
Assist in resolving basic vendor queries and operational issues
Who Should Apply   Students or recent graduates in  Business, Management, Design, Arts, Marketing, or related fields
Comfortable with  calling, messaging, and following up  with vendors
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with trackers (Google Sheets/Excel)
Willing to take ownership and work independently
Interest in Indian crafts, regional products, or marketplaces is a plus
